It can be used with many forms of media to reach out without actually promoting the product by getting a person hooked and be obliged to pass it on, with the product or company advertisement along with it. A good example of this is sponsorship of a certain media, such as a flash game or funny video which one person passes on to another with the company brand or logo helping promote the company or its product.
